Playing Video Poker Online ~ Optimal Strategies, Tips and Rules

Video Poker
Playing Video Poker at online casinos is very similar in several aspects to those video-poker machines you are use to playing at land-based casinos. When playing online, you are playing on a video machine that looks very similar to the video poker machines you see at many land-based casinos.

You select the machine denomination that you wish to play; e.g. $.25 or $.50 or more, you then select how many coins you want to bet per hand by pressing the Bet One to Bet Five button.

Playing all 5 coins offers you the best potential for more optimal wins and many fewer disappointments. If you want to bet all 5 coins, then hit the Bet Max button. Hit the Deal/Draw button and you will be dealt 5 cards. You then hold the cards that you want to keep based on the paytable combination's by clicking on the cards or clicking the Hold buttons. Hit the Draw button and you're off to the races! You will be dealt new cards in the place of the
cards you did not want to keep and discarded. Your final hand will be displayed and the winning hand will be paid if there was one. If not, then you lose your bet if no winning combination was available and you re-bet or hit bet-max again. Those of course are the very basics of playing online video poker.

The dis-similarities of playing online video poker verses land-based video poker are a few. For one, and this may just be my favorite reason for preferring 'online video poker' over playing at a land-based casino is the fact that I can play anytime, from any room in the house, and it makes no difference whether I'm dressed or not!

A couple of the other differences you will notice is the fact that you will have to wait a couple days to get your cashout in-hand should you have a good winning streak while playing at one of the 'online casinos' listed here. That's the part that's not instant like it is in the land-based casinos. But many players do not mind a couple days wait on their cashout when they may be getting longer play times online verses offline.

Some online casinos even claim to offer much better overall RTP Odds on their games than their land-based counterparts offer. This could be true, or not, but it does kinda make sense with all of the online competition out there, whereas Vegas and Atlantic City have minimum RTP percentages as low as 75%. Full pay deuces wild optimal strategy offers a return of 100.77%. The Bonus Deuces Wild Game in the pic below offers an overall RTP percentage of 99.0625%. More payout percentages for various other video poker pay tables and optimal strategies can be found at Michael Shackleford's site, 'The Wizard Of Odds'.
