The Different Types of Bingo

Modern casino bingo has come a long way from its days in churches and community centres. What was once a game that was considered boring by many, bingo is now among the most played casino games in the world, having millions of players all over the globe.

Even if you’ve never played bingo before, you’re more than likely aware of the rules, which are extremely easy to learn. Each player receives a playing card that will often have a series of numbers on it, sorted into rows and columns.

Numbers will then be called out at random, which the player marks off their card if they have that specific number. If the numbers create a single row across the card, the player yells “Bingo” and wins the round. Simple, fun to play, and if you become bored of the regular game, there are some online betting variations that will spice things up.

30 Ball Bingo

This is also commonly known as speed bingo, and for a good reason: it’s an incredibly fast-paced game. This type of bingo only makes use of 30 balls per round, which means that getting to the end of the round doesn’t take much time, making it the perfect variation of bingo for those players that don’t have a huge amount of time to spare.

It’s growing in popularity by the day, especially in the online world. Playing cards are made up of 9 numbers on a 3×3 grid, making it easy to earn a bingo in a relatively short amount of time.

75 Ball Bingo

This is the most commonly played type of bingo in regions like the United Kingdom and the United States, and consists of a playing card of 5 columns, 5 rows, and 75 balls.

It’s much slower than speed bingo and is designed primarily to be played in a hall with a few other people. This has become popular online as bingo halls are now readily available to load up on just about any browser, and even on mobile devices.

80 Ball Bingo

80 ball bingo is a type of bingo that was created specifically to be played online and is the most commonly played variation at online casinos.

Using a 4×4 grid, with a total of 16 numbers, it’s an average-paced game that is best played when you have some time free.

Winning patterns will depend on the rules of that specific bingo, but vertical lines, horizontal lines, and four corners are the most common.

90 Ball Bingo

One of the newer types of bingo in both the land-based and online scene, 90 ball bingo differs in that it’s both the longest and the least simple to play, and requires a fair amount of concentration.

Here, players will need to play at least three rounds total before a bingo can be completed, and it’s often a game of who can maintain their attention the longest.
